Conch Shell House, Isla Mujeres, Mexico
This Conch Shell House located on the Island Isla Mujeres (Women's Island) just 20 minutes away from Cancun. The House designed and constructed by the famous Mexican artist Octavio Ocampo. Conch Shell House certainly leaves a distinctive impression with its 180 degree ocean views and seashell inspired design, with smooth flowing building lines that mirror real seashells. More than 4000 seashells and items found on the local beach were used in decoration of the house. The upstairs bathroom sink is made out of the base of a conch shell, the faucets are made out of coral. By the way, this exotic house is available for vacation rentals and offers a true escape into an ocean bound paradise.
